Travel visa for Germany
Do you need a Travel Visa for Germany?
You do NOT NEED A VISA for Germany for business, personal visits or tourism if you are:

- citizen of the EU/EEA/EFTA
-Schengen states countries- The 15 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. All these countries except Norway and Iceland are European Union members.)
- a citizen of a country listed below:
 Andorra ,Panama, Paraguay, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Switzerland, United States of America, Uruguay, Vatican, Venezuela, Argentina , Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Korea (Rep. of), Macao (RAE only,) Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras
 A holder of a Diplomatic, Service or Special Passport from Chad, Ecuador, Ghana, Philippines, Senegal, Thailand and Turkey
 a holder of a Diplomatic Passport from India, Jamaica, Kenya, Macedonia, Malawi, Morocco, Namibia, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa and Tunisia.
Citizens of any countries not mentioned above WILL NEED A TRAVEL VISA to enter Germany.
The travel visa always has to be applied for by the person to travel to Germany at the competent German mission abroad covering your place of residence. The travel visa application form is often available on the webpage of the competent German mission abroad to which you must submit your application. There you can find out what other documents are to be presented with the application.

Visa Application
 Travel Visa application must be made on the latest form, to be provided free of cost by the German Embassy Application can be filled in legible handwriting or typing by any person, but must be signed by the applicant himself/herself.
 All columns in the application form have to be filled in. Enter NA in the space provided if particular column/s is/are not applicable in your case.
 The passport must have validity of at least 3 months longer than the period of intended stay.
Photograph
 Please submit 2 (two) recent and identical passport size photographs with a light background (white/grey/beige). Photographs should not have any stapler pin marks disfiguring the face or background.
 Proportion of the head in the photograph must be 2/3rd of the size of the complete photograph.
 Please attach one photograph to the application, the other should be kept in the passport.
Supporting Documents
 All documents submitted must be true and authentic.
 Overseas Medical Insurance with the inclusion of a repatriation flight if required.
 A salary statement and/or proof or sufficient funds to cover your expenses during the stay.
 Note: Additional documents may be required in certain cases. Minors must submit the written consent of their parents/custodians.
Personal appearance
Security dictates that, as a rule, personal appearance is required for the submission of travel visa applications.
