The standard age for car rental is 25 - 65 years. If you are aged between 21- 25 or over 65 you may still be able to rent a car however an additional surcharge may be incurred. This surcharge is partly to cover additional insurance and is payable to the local car rental partner on collection of your car. Age restrictions may apply in certain destinations, and in some cases there may be a young driver’s charge payable locally.
It is possible to book and pay for a car on behalf of someone else, however the lead drivers’ name must be that of the person who is to drive the vehicle. If you want your partner or friend to drive the car, they must be registered as additional drivers at extra cost paid locally to the supplier.
Once the order has been placed through the web site, the order is confirmed and you will receive confirmation e-mail shortly followed by your voucher. On collection of your vehicle you must produce your confirmation email and voucher. The lead driver will also require a full British driving license which has been held for at least one year (drivers with a new style license must have all sections with them), as well as a valid credit card in their name to be used as a form of deposit. In certain locations and for some car types, drivers must have held a full license for a minimum of 2 years. Certain car rental partners in the United Kingdom may also require two additional forms of identification i.e. two utility bills. Please note all additional drivers must also produce their driving license. Further specific information regarding collection will appear on your car rental voucher. If any of the above are not produced the supplier may refuse the rental.
The duration of your rental starts and finishes according to the pick-up and drop-off dates and times detailed on your voucher, the price of which will be confirmed at time of booking and is calculated on the basis of 24-hour units. If you wish to extend the rental period after collection of the car, or if you return the car later than stated on your voucher, you will be charged locally at the local daily rate, which may be higher than our rates. No refunds are payable on cars returned early.
Delivery is normally to a local office, with a driver collecting you from your accommodation to pick up the car. A charge for delivery and collection payable locally may apply and will be advised on booking if applicable.
Deposits vary by destination. All customers will be required to leave a deposit to cover the insurance excess and fuel. To do so, a valid credit card in the name of the lead driver, must be produced upon collection of the car, as a form of deposit. Cash deposits are rarely accepted. Where a deposit for fuel is payable, it will usually be refunded if the car is returned with a full tank. If the tank is not returned full, our local car rental partner will charge for fuel at its prevailing rate. They may also levy a refueling charge. Please check the fuel policy when you pick up your car. Deposits against damage are required in some countries. A major credit card can be used for this purpose.
You should retain your car rental documents and related receipts for a minimum of 28 days after returning home.
Personal accident insurance (PAI): this is probably covered in your holiday insurance. It is an option, which you will be offered on collection of the car.
In case you want to cancel your booking, the cancellations must be made in writing.
